Be sure that the address that you provide in your application is the address that you will have access to at retirement. When you retire, your first retirement benefit will be a paper check sent to this address. All future benefit payments will be direct deposited to the account you designate during the retirement application process. If you plan to move before or immediately after retirement, consider providing an address that you will have access to for approximately six months.
When asked for an email address, be sure to provide a personal email address that you will have access to after retirement. Do not provide a work-related email address. The Retirement Systems Division sends periodic emails about updates that may affect your benefits, so be sure to read these updates to stay informed.
